Have you tried a heating pad? Use it for 20 minutes at a time. Then use an ice pack for 20 minutes. You can keep rotating this for awhile but of course don't put these directly on the skin.
The EMG and nerve cond. are to see if you've got nerve damage. I certainly hope you don't! As far as I know, that's about all they'll show, but I'm not sure.
I wish you the best ~ please let us know how you come out on your tests. God bless. Hugs, Lee
Good luck and I hope this helps you.
I like heat. In fact have a great heated seat in my car so i'll put it on and do a heat treatment when I go for a drive.
I have had ultrasound, laser, diff electronic treatments, TENS, I take amatriptyline for nerve root pain, I get nerve block injections (20) every week. Exercise is a must do. Massage when I can afford it. water exercise, meditation, visualization, self-hypnosis, hot tub helps when I can manage to lift the lid. epsom salts help the muscle strain that comes along with it, healthy eating for best energy is a must. There's practically not a part of the body that is not affected by this kind of pain from migraines to.. siatica going right down to your toes. I also take traumacet. I take muscule relaxors occassionally .. I took them more often in the beginning but basically found after 2 years that you build up a resistance so I quit. I have two special exercise classes a week which are an hour each in duration.... I'm sure there is more I do.. but that's just what I'm thinking off the top right now. Good Luck to you. Sometimes these things are temp depending on what is bothering you. Mine are permanent from an accident over 5 years ago. Cheers :) J.
