The term back pain includes pain affecting the neck, midback and low back. Acute back pain may begin suddenly with intense pain but typically lasts fewer than three months. I have had sacrum pain for about 6 months and recently the pain goes into my groin and into the front of my leg. It does not go down the back of my legs. Has anyone had back pain that goes into the front of their leg? Also, I the muscles are sore to touch. Can anyone relate to this?

I can. My pain is in my SI joints and my hip, and my pain has always been in the front of my thighs and only occasionally in the back. Have you had PT? I was given some exercises to help strengthen my legs, which she said had become very weak. I still cannot climb stairs without EXTREME pain, but the other pain is getting better.

I did physical therapy twice but it hurt me for days. Have you been diagnosed with a specific condition? I'm really curious since I have not found anyone that has SI issues on this site so far. How did it start for you and what all do you feel? What makes it better? What makes it worse? Sorry for so many questions but I just have no idea what is happening with my body and it's been happening for 6 months.

I went to a physical therapy place that offers aquatic therapy. It helped me a lot. There are specific exercises/stretches on youtube too for SI joint pain. I would suggest looking at them. I have to do my stretches at least twice a day or I am in pain.

Sore muscles-sound like you have tension in your muscles. I've heard active release technique is better than massage therapy for relieving overused muscle pain. Where do you live? Physiomed ( http://www.physiomed.ca/treatments/active-release-technique-art/ )offers Active Release technique in Toronto. Dont know about the other places. Whatever you decide to do, dont wait. Muscle problems have a nasty habit of going chronic.

I have dealt with degenerative disks for about 9 years now and you may have issues with your psoas muscle (hip flexors), that is part of my problem. Lots of stretching, yoga, and those types of movements can help. It gets tight especially from a lot of sitting. I have had great success with yoga but the right trainers who are sensitive to health issues is a must.

I'm 60 now and the worst of my back pain is coming from that very issue with the SI joints. So bad sometimes I can hardly stand for more than a few min. That area in my rear is sore to the touch and laying on my back is like laying on rocks. They sometimes diagnose an unstable SI joint and will go in and fuse them but no thank you to that is what I would say.
