It's fine it helps as sort of a mood enhancer.Once your on it a few day's you will notice the difference in your mood.as for pain my Doctor explained it like this,he said it was like putting a bandaid on the pain for a short while.I have been on it for quite a while once you get use to it your fine,start out with small doses and gradually get to where your comfortable at taking the prescribed amount.

What side effects have you experienced? Any weight gain? Foggy head? How much do you take?

I haven't taken Lyrica, so I cannot comment on it specifically, but I do have a suggestion. Try reposting your question over on the Chronic Pain Board. There is a lot more activity there, plus I am sure that you will find more Lyrica users.

I had no bad side effects.I first started taking Lyrica back in 2008,when I first started it put me in such a good mood,I felt great.I thought wow, I have finally found something that helps and it does.I take 300 mg. 2 times a day now,It was increased back in January.I guess I have gotten use to it,but without it, I simply don't feel like doing much.It has helped me to deal with the pain.Best of luck to you.I hope the Lyrica helps you also.

I have been on it for three days now. Just one 50 mg in the morning. I know I need to take more, but the foggy brain is something I have to get used to. I have noticed some swelling in my hands, but maybe that will go away.

I have actually taken large quantities of lyrica. It's the next generation of drug for neurontin. Now nueurointin was horrible.. it made me tired.. loopy.. i lost chunks of time.. really bad.. Lyrica tho i have not had ANY of those side effects. I didnt have them at low doses and i dont have them at high doses. I wouldnt be afraid to try it.. side effects are rare and lyrica helps considerably with my nerve based pain.

I used to take 4800 mgs of Neurontin. It was horrible. I couldn't think, still can't according to my wife, and I hated it. Discovered Lyrica and I now take 150 mgs of it a day. I haven't experienced the side effects that I had with Neurontin. My wife even noticed a dramatic change after a week or two. I highly recommend it.

Lyrics made my blood pressure drop and I will pass out so dizzy on it. I also gained twenty five pounds. Immediately after I stop taking it the weight came off Thank Goodness. I am now GaBapentin 300 mg 3times a day. It works wonderful for my nerve pain ask your doctor about it. I have gained no weight with it.

It was horrible for me! Didn't help with anything & I had bad side effects. Made me depressed, and feel aggressive. When I took the first dose I literally passed out, luckily I was already in bed. I was so passed out I slept for 14 hours, and when I woke up felt "drugged", and I had wet the bed during the night which is something I've never done in my life, or since I've stopped the Lyrica. I don't recommend it to anyone.

I took it for a couple of months, didn't help, and had bad side effects, blurred vision and brain fog, we're the worst of them. The doctor suggested that I lower the dose, I told her that it is not helping at the high dose...

I ended up going on Gabapentin, but do not really feel like it is helping either. I have blurred vision, very tired, and in the past eight weeks i have been on it my hair has changed texture and broken off, and I am bruising really easily. I don't know what to do. Neither of these medications seem to be helping.

I told the Neurologist and the Rheumy that one of the sturies found that Lyrica is no better then the placebo, and they should have just given me the sugar pill... My Rheumy had a good comeback, she said that is why it didn't work, because you read the study, so you didn't "believe", probably not far from the truth...

I have been on Lyrica for some time and have had no side effects. it depends on you. I would try it and see. If you don't like it, stop. It has helped my pain quite a bit.
