Rocking and chanting to calm herself or if really upset she will go under the furniture (tables, etc) to get away from people. She used to self-injure but not as often anymore.

whining, whimpering, barking, stimming with his fingers, shouting ..eeeee I have a headache from today!

crying, screaming, hitting, kicking, swinging his arms around, picking on younger siblings, pushing and hugging to knock over, wiggles head back and forth fast, draws in the air with his fingers, listens to music, plays computer games, writes words, rolls around on the floor, jumps off furniture

depends on where he is. At home he trashes his room including setting it on fire (new thing), peeling the paint off his walls, hurting the animals or younger children. If his older brothers are in the way he lashes out at them. at school he is much worse, he throws chairs, his desk, other kids, books-basically everything he can get his hands on. Hes attacked his teachers as well as other kids. Refuses to cooperate, do his work. Makes strange noises and yells at other kids for looking at him even when they are not. Im sure theres more but it was one hell of a week-wait its only tuesday! ugh.....

let me count the ways...hitting, screaming, tearing up the house

self injury: poicking scabs till they bleed, punching himself in the head+ body, slaming his arms on things till which results in deep bruises, biting himself, throwing himself on the floor hard ect.........
throwing things, breaking things on purpose, smaching things then stamping on them, swiping things, trashi9ng the house.
being aggressive, hitting, punching,clawing,
screaming like someone is beating him, pulling mommy;s hair from behind ect...................
ugh!!!!!
temper tamrums that include all of the above, and lasts hours takes a little break than starts all over again. does this over and over again all day long-----:(

Water calms my daughter down. We spend most of the time in the pool and when its too cold its the bath tub. Some times I think she spends half her time in water and the other half thinking about how to get back in water.

In order

withdrawl
growl
screech
scream
cries
hits hands on floor
hits fists on floor

if restrained:
attempts to hit the person restraining him
attempts to bite the person restraining him

Eventually, when he is able to calm a bit:
goes slack
breathes heavy
whines
snuggles
says he is sorry
back to normal

temper tantrum and avoidence and controlling. Stress really pushes the ASD traits to be more prominent

yelling, screaming, hitting, crying, throws herself on the floor, tearing up her room, throws stuff, kicks and with the other moms her the meltdowns last for hours. We all have the patience of saints!

That'd be what I call a Helldown of a day! meltdown....isn't a strong enough of a word....Stevensmom....ya came up with the best word to describe it! Helldown!

Complete chaos. After the initial blow out, the family is stressed another couple of hours. Of course we moms know we pay dearly.

Now that he's 16 and on meds, he mostly talks to himself in an annoyed tone of voice and he twitches, maybe throws himself on the floor... It's so, so, SO much better than it used to be!
