my child is hyposensitive with the hearing and he is attention seeking and a visual learner to adjust for the hypo dysfunction. He is strongly bothered by casset player music and other sounds like the auditorium and school cafeteria. He is confused with the noise and zones out.

my child is very sensitive to loud sounds especially at the end of the school day when things are not as structured. sometimes at those times of the day, other kids simply singing can cause him to break down.

he also can't stand for soap to be hanging off the soap dispenseror lotion bottle.

My son is sensory seeking. He climbs a lot to get input. He is sensitive to noises such as blow dryers, lawn mowers, and etc. He also has sensory adversions to certain foods. Rian prefers soft foods. My daughter, Allie is the opposite. Hates a lot of noise, loves hard foods such as apples, carrots, and etc. She craves swinging, and being spun.

bubs had a hearing test that showed is hearing is about 200percent greater than normal..
he is often overwhelmed by what we consider 'background noise', i.e. radiators filling or emptying, new ice cubes still freezing in the freezer, the hair straightneners heating up.. oh there are loads.. his life is run by them... he suffers alot of pain..
also, as he has no 'off switch' for his ability to store every conversation and noise he hears, he is constantly struggling to retain each noise individually, this leads to alot of stress and general anxiety, making him warey of noisy or busy places.. he is constantly repeating 'snippets' of conversations that he has overheard, i mean, all the time, i.e. if we just go to post a letter, he wil be on 'record' the whole tome, from car engine noises, the postman, the dogs barking ( in different tones) car brakes, bicylces, peoples mp3 players ( he can hear them). and, of course, every conversation that goes on, ( people on their mobiles, people talking on the street,neighbours chatting).. the list is endless.. and the anxiety is endless.... he seems to be drawn to making sure he gets a perfect memory of it all and this leads to high anxiety and avoidance techniques, making him very isolated at times...
his only relief, is really loud music, with headphones ( that have to be new, or apparently they begin to buzz)

HE COPES WITH IT ALL SOO WELL... I AM SO PROUD OF HIM, IF IT WERE ME, I DONT HONESTLY KNOW HOW I WOULD MANAGE.

I worked seven year ear nose and throat. A lot of the new parents who are searching for answers came to us thinking there was something wrong with the child's hearing. there never was. Actually, I found that autistic children have exceptional hearing.

My daughter has sensory seeking, auditory defensiveness, tactile defenseivness, low registration, sensory sensitivity, sensory avoiding, certain noises like chatter , vaccum cleaner, etc...sundlight for to long, cant walk on certain surfaces,

she doesnt know how to walk from carpet to hard wood..

She has issues with vestibular, she seeks out a swing, but cant go for a long car ride as it messes up her vestibular,,She craves hard crunchy foods, ..

She was also tested for hearing problems and passed....

She will grab you hard and you have to grab her firmly she does not like light touch its as though it hurts her...

i dont know all the technical language for this, so here goes...
Adam likes to make noise, BUT, he acts like loud noise that is not coming from him causes him pain, and i truly believe it does hurt his ears. adam seems to like pressure as well, but can sleep great at night without heavy/weighted blankets. sometimes i think lights bother him, he will sometimes turn the lights down with the dimmer, and we he does it seems to calm him alot. i wonder how do i find out his exact sensory issues?

Jayden is a deep sensory seeker, visual stimming, and has a fear of things like shaving cream pudding jello....he freaks out when he see these things....he will gag at the sight of of pudding and yogurt....he like to get up on high things and fall of....he has a very low sesativity to pain...he can run right into a wall and bruise himself but not cry.

I forgot to mention he doesn't like it when people sing happy birthday he almost seizures when he here's it

I asked my oldest son. He said visual. He has auditory on occasion.

I have a few traits myself. I am extremely sensitive to sound. When my ADHD meds. wear off, certain sounds are painful. Things have actually gotten better for me. My doctor gives me AdderallXR in the morning and a small dosage at noon. Things seem to be better. I have other issue other than ADHD or Autism traits. I am trying to recover from a deep depression last year. I have improved a great deal. The problem is someone can hurt my feelings and I am back down in the hole. I'm in the hole today. I'm sorry I got off track.

My son is very sensitive to loud noises. He ofetn becomes afraid when the choir sings at church. He also is afraid of the THX sound at the beginning of the animated movies.

Matthew is sensitive to certain materials in clothing. For the longest time he wouldn't wear underwear because it seemed to hurt him. He doesn't wear jeans, he'll wear pants with the stretchy waist band and he has to have the tags out of his shirts. He used to be real sensitive about having his head touched and getting his haircut for the longest time was a total nightmare. HE also used to be sensitive to touch ingeneral, especially if he felt startled. I couldn't even reach out and hug him without him pulling away from me and screaming bloody murder. That's not so much the case anymore but I also learned to let him approach me. He still can't handle an excessive amount of noise, like when we're out somewhere. I can usually tell when he;s had enough because the fingers go in his ears and he starts humming. Here at home, he'll just rap himself up in his sleeping bag and that's how he winds down.
