Okay first let me explain. My son just turned three today and he started preschool. He was diagnosed in April with Autism. I am a full-time grad student so I am able to get him on the bus but I cannot be there when he gets home. My mom watches him for me. The issue I am wondering about is that my mom is disabled. She is unable to walk up and down stairs and for even short distances. The bus drops my son in front of our house which is a bit of a distance from our house. Plus there are about 5 steps coming off of our porch. My mom has great difficulty getting down the steps and walking down our driveway to get my son off the bus. The bus driver said someone had to get him off the bus. She said they could not bring him to the porch. My first question is why can't they just bring him to the porch and my second question is if we can't find somebody to get him off the bus than is he suppose to not go to preschool because of a tiny issue such as getting off the bus. Now I don't want anyone thinking that if my mom can't get down the stairs to get him that that means she shouldn't be watching him. She is very capable of watching him within the house. She just has problems walking and stuff.
