Autism is classified as a neurodevelopmental disorder which manifests itself in markedly abnormal social interaction, communication ability, patterns of interests, and patterns of behavior. I have a friend who constantly put me down and said my autism was annoying to her and how i communicated. I often didnt understand her straight away and asked questions to try understand her point. I guenuinely didnt understand her and she would say things like " stop acting dumb" or "stop being annoying" or " just shut up and stop going on"
I have just tried to end this friendship because it gets me down. I really hate that i have autism. I dont mean to be so annoying and dumb.

Asking questions when you don't understand is not dumb. It is a really good way to communicate, and to learn something.

You could think of it like this. Your mind is very analytical and you need to keep exploring and seeking answers for a deeper understanding, just like the stereotypical portrayal of a genius. The image of a genius is basically just a high functioning autist.
A lot of people who had autism have been behind many of the major inventions and developments in society because they didn't think like other people.
