Do autistic children hear voices, see things that aren't there, and feel things that aren't there. My son is 11 years old and we have believed since he was little that he was autistic but it has been a battle to get anyone to listen. But since the voices and seeing things started they saw him straight away. We were worried about the voices being linked to schizophrenia because there is a family history of it but the woman we saw said she thinks it's some sort of hypersensitivity of his senses does this sound like a autistic trait
for example yesterday the teacher complained my son attacked a girl with no provocation. but he does not attack unprovoked. it is just that no one else perceives the loud noise as a threat, or can even smell the laundry detergent in their clothes, or understands why he might lose it after having to be in a classroom with 20 other kids for 6 hours. I know I would. so, it might appear to others that we see and smell and hear things that aren't there, to THEM. they are certainly real to us.
