I am just about to look at your link but I notified them at the start of the year. I know that if you don't and you have an accident you could be in deep shit.
My problem with the whole thing is that I have never been effected driving wise-but what if I have an accident and the MS thing comes up as a problem-even though it had nothing to do with the accident.

Just had a look and I can agree that we can get charged for not saying. Better to be safe than sorry. I know that on the forms the Neuro fills out can determine if you need to have a medical often to see your fitness to drive.
It will be interesting to see when and if the MS thing comes up as an issue when it need not be in some accidents or traffic violations.

I guess I am worried that if I tell them I will have to be retested and I know I'd fail! This is plain stupid, I know, because if I failed then obviously I'm not fit to drive. We live 10kms out of town and not having a licence would impact on my life so much....
When I had double vision my neuro said I was fine to drive provided I wore a patch or the special glasses.
I may just have to bite the proverbial bullet.

I am pretty sure that you would be monitored and they can't just take it away from you. They may ask you to sit a drving test. Download the form off the website and have a look at the questions your dr or neuro will have to complete. See which category you think they would put you in.

I know it is a worry but maybe even look at talking the neuro/dr about it prior to filling it out and tell them your concerns.

I have to have a medical every year because of type 1 diabetes, which I have had for approx 26 years, vic roads send out a form which has to be filled in by a Dr. and eye specialist and now I hve ms (18 months) that has to be in the testing as well. My eyes are the major concern, but so far I am hanging in there.

I had the same worry about the drivers licence & you do have to notify them. My gp does the form & I have never had to be tested. My license is restricted to auto as it is my left side & leg especially that is weak.
Let us know how you go, there are always modifications that can be made so that you can still drive.

anyone know of a good aussie website that can tell you bout car modifications... where/who/$$$ ?? im just preparing to buy a new car.. auto or manual ? i kno auto's are easier to drive when times are hard..but are they the best option for modifications? prob just need 2 find a nice decent honest mechanic...how do i find one of those...lol

I know nothing about car modifications, but I do know personally of a very reputable company in tenterfield who build cars for special purposes so perhaps a good place to start might be a similar body shop near to where you live.
On the driving thing - I recently renewed my licence and had to get the gp to fill out a medical form because I have a disability parking permit. The guy I got at the RTA was just wonderful because he knew all about MS, having a friend who he said was'much worse than me'

Sorry coming in very late on this. There are places that specialise in modifications. I dont know about manual/auto, depends how you have been affected. I know that the majority of our ms physio group (which is probably over 30 on the 2 days I go) that drive all have auto cars as they are wasier to drive & less concentration on other than driving - gear changes etc.
I have had no problem each time rta send me the forms, Dr fills them out & says I am fine to drive. She knows I avoid driving at night & dont drive long distanxe so is happy for me to decide in most cases, though has told me off for driving there sometimes when I am not well but it is only 2 blocks away & no main rds.
For midifications I know that ms society often has something in newsletters, worth a phone call depending on which state you are in they should be able to give you ideas.
