I am 30yrs old almost 31. I have gone off Copaxone so that i can start to try and have a family. I was just wondering if other mums who have MS can share their stories with me. It is very daunting and scary etc all the now knowing and stuff. I am not sure how i am going to cope once i have had the baby etc.......So please let loose.
I am a little past child bearing but I am almost certain that the current issue of 'Focus' from the NSW MS Society was on this topic -if my memory is wrong (which it is sometimes) it would have been the mag which the serono (rebif) people put out. i am sure you would be able to access both these publications. Good luck with starting your family. What an exciting time. I have three lovely boys, and while I didn't know I had MS, my neuro is rather sure I did. The funny thing with MS is that the symptoms seem to stop while pregnant. During all of mine I had never felt so good once I got over the nausea. Everyone said I looked fabulous, and I certainly felt it. If I could capture that feeling all the time I would and I have concluded that the feeling must be what healthy people feel like all the time.
I hope it is the same for you, and of course there are never any guarantees as MS affects everyone differently.
Hi, I didnt have this issue but from what I have read & heard from others the time of pregnancy is good & ms behaves. Some people have relapses after wards, varying in times & how bad, others dont have that wither & sail through.
The main thing is take care of yourself & bubs when you have one, & try to have a support system around you so that if you are tired (what mum isnt) or struggling you can get some help/break. If not when bubs sleeps, so do you.
In the meantime have fun practicisng & relax about it.
