Atrial Fibrillation (AFib) Support Group
Atrial fibrillation (AF or afib) is an abnormal heart rhythm (cardiac arrhythmia) which involves the two small, upper heart chambers (the atria). Heart beats in a normal heart begin after electricity generated in the atria by the sinoatrial node spread through the heart and cause contraction of the heart muscle and pumping of blood.
I hope things level off and your INR returns to the good range :)
I hope you are able to get everything sorted out tomorrow and your INR returns to normal (your target range, that is).
Take care.
Prayers for u! Keep us posted!
Hugs.
Christine
I don't remember what they did for it. It was in the back issues of the site. It is the PE board on DS
good luck
These things are rare, but maybe you a good candidate for a NOAC. If Coumadin/Warfarin causes horrible side effects, you should be better off with some other anticoagulant. Don't let anyone tell you to be afraid of "possible" long term effects of NOACs that we don't know about when the Coumadin is causing real and potentially dangerous side effects.
Most people don't have these problems with Coumadin.

I did NOT hit my toe... it does not hurt.... as Petey said it must
be a reaction from the warfarin and will look for answers today.
Meantime enjoying greens! I got so scared.
I saw toe necrosis on line and read about amputations and that
prompted the weekend called to my PCP.
Never a dull moment is correct. I always had it checked every
two weeks .. new doc checks it once a month only. I do not
like that. Also, someting new for me .. in the ER blood tech
tied a band a few inches above my wrist and drew blood there.
NEVER had that done and it HURT. When the blood spurted
all over him he said "You must be on a blood thinner" Give
me a break. Thanks for everyone's comments! Marilyn
all of us.
doc at hospital said they start worrying when patient is
over 4 ..
I think the diet plays a STRONG part in it. I have had a STRICT
diet without the greens... once in a while a little but I am sure
some greens are hiding in the soup I eat every single day.
Healthy choice but watch the E content on all the labels
along with the K content. I am hungry most of the time.
I don't eat fats .. keeps numbers under control but not that
much fun. Hard to eat out unless I call ahead.
thank you all for all the input! Marilyn (slowfoot)
This article said that the Dairy industry has exploited the desire for folks to stay slim by saying that skim milk will keep us thinner and healthier....but the nation has not stayed slim or healthy with this approach. It said that the fats taken out of of milk is used for other dairy products...thus not actually helping us..but helping the profits of the industry...not the farmer!
I understand that they all likely have their faults/challenges.
But are any of *these more user friendly and just as effective?
