Atrial fibrillation (AF or afib) is an abnormal heart rhythm (cardiac arrhythmia) which involves the two small, upper heart chambers (the atria). Heart beats in a normal heart begin after electricity generated in the atria by the sinoatrial node spread through the heart and cause contraction of the heart muscle and pumping of blood.
Its been two weeks since the ablation and I never thought it would be this way, so I was totally unprepared. I've been in an irregular rhythm most of the day, everyday. Since I'm so symptomatic, I slept maybe 12hrs of the past two weeks. So I've been in a little bit of a funk. Today, I've only had a 1hr episode which was not bad at all, and man does it feel good. I sure hope it is a start of my heart calming down.
I've had a lot of problems, but I know it is not the norm. Even after two emergency room trips, one meltdown(no sleep really messes with your head), vision problems, rashes, razor blade catheters, a few other things and being called for jury duty, I would do it again. I don't want to go back. Thanks for everyones support and thanks to my Mother for helping me get thru.

I agree with yogacat. You have been thru a lot!! I hope it's smooth sailing and NSR from here on out!
It should be encouraging for those who are waiting for their ablation, that even with all your complications, you would do it again!
You have shown great strength through this...so sorry you have had these terrible issues since your operation. Hopefully all will be improving soon. Had to laugh about your "Mom" comment...no matter how old we get, our Mom is still our Mom! I am 57, and still count on Mom for help! We are so lucky they are still there. NSR forever to you, my brother!

I also felt better 2 weeks post ablation, but it took several more weeks to regain my normal energy level.
Take it easy.
