Atrial fibrillation (AF or afib) is an abnormal heart rhythm (cardiac arrhythmia) which involves the two small, upper heart chambers (the atria). Heart beats in a normal heart begin after electricity generated in the atria by the sinoatrial node spread through the heart and cause contraction of the heart muscle and pumping of blood.

I might have to travel to malaysia , it is 14 hour flight any advice .
my elgs have atendency to puff up .has anyone traveled that far and on vacations .

would like any kind of feed back

Ray:

As long as you hydrate (with water, not vodka) and move around, you should be ok. I believe there was just some posts on this topic.

I have travelled overseas which was 17 hr trip before I knew I had a fib, but probably had it. As Pete said, move around as much as you can and drink a lot of water!! Not caffeinated drinks or alcohol.

I just saw my regular cardiologist and asked him about a long flight to Hawaii. He said no problem after the ablation.

For the legs puffing up, did you ever try those support hose which are tight and suppose to prevent your ankles from swelling? I tried them before my overseas trip. They were so uncomfortable though, I didn't use them. Just a thought.

Ray, where are you "elgs" located? Seriously, buy some support hose for the tip. That will help a lot.
