Atrial Fibrillation (AFib) Support Group
Atrial fibrillation (AF or afib) is an abnormal heart rhythm (cardiac arrhythmia) which involves the two small, upper heart chambers (the atria). Heart beats in a normal heart begin after electricity generated in the atria by the sinoatrial node spread through the heart and cause contraction of the heart muscle and pumping of blood.

All crucifious vegetables interfer with thyroid function when eaten raw. I have noticed that I get afib even if I eat a lot of cooked brussel sprouts or cooked cauliflower . I was surprised cause I thought cooked was ok, but I am talking well beyond a normal serving. One of my drs. thinks too much sulfer may be a trigger.
I am only 53 and have no CHADS risks other than being female and was put on eliquis because with a score of one, it says to consider anti coag. Due to the fact that I have at least weekly episodes dr. thinks that frequency is a risk factor not considered in the CHADS rating system.
I really think that the thyroid is more complex than what we know or what blood work reveals and if we could fix it, that it would fix our afib. Anyone with a thyroid issue should get and keep all copies of your blood work. You dr. Should be testing TSH along with free T4 and free T3. To make matters more confusing endocrinologists usually focus on TSH to determine if your thyroid is functioning properly and functional drs. will focus on free T3. For anyone wanting to learn more about the thyroid there is a book called Stop the Thyroid Maddness and a website by the same name.
Dealt with thyroid issue's since I was 17 so blame everything on thyroid

A few weeks after starting my 65mg/day morning dose occasional morning episodes started. Once I associated them with the medication I split the dose to AM/PM and eliminated the morning episodes. Now if I can figure out the evening ones...
Definitely a connection.
