Atrial Fibrillation (AFib) Support Group
Atrial fibrillation (AF or afib) is an abnormal heart rhythm (cardiac arrhythmia) which involves the two small, upper heart chambers (the atria). Heart beats in a normal heart begin after electricity generated in the atria by the sinoatrial node spread through the heart and cause contraction of the heart muscle and pumping of blood.
Sorry to hear about your problems with xarelto. I have been taking xarelto for about 1.5 months and so far (knock on wood) no problems.
Since you are scratching the hair off your legs this is not something you want to live with. I suggest you call your doc and start a new anticoagulant. Transitioning from xarelto to a new anticoagulant is pretty straight forward.
Since xarelto and eliquis are both XA inhibitors you might want to consider Pradaxa or Warfarin which have different mechanisms of action.
If you start now you should be able to grow back that hair by summer.
Hair loss is age related but can also be caused by other problems such as thyroid disease.

What kind of side effects did you have with Sotalol? I haven't had any, except for some tiredness at first. I like it because it has some "beta blocker" in it which help my b.p. stay relatively stable. Not sure what the itching is coming from because I take the Sotalol, Sertraline and Warfarin.
Thanks,
Hugs
Christine
Have you heard of itching from taking Sotalol - may not be related to any meds, but makes me wonder. I don't have a rash. I take Sotalol, Sertraline and Warfarin. Itching not quite as bad today!
I HATE taking meds. I don't think the Sertraline does anythng for me, they put me on it after my first A-Fib attack and was very depressed. This was 50 mg once daily and then the last time, in Sept. when I was in the hospital, they upped it to 100 mg. I am thinking of breaking the pill in 1/2 and trying to cut out the Sertraline.
Hope you are well, thanks for all your research and info.
Hugs to you,
Christine
" Hey bro, got a little itching also with the Xeralto. Glad, but not glad to see another 55 years old guy on here. How are u doing since the ablation and is it helping?"
Yep and I was diagnosed 12 years ago at 42yo. It certainly didn't get any better. Finally after my third ablation ... This feels like success. I am a new person ... for now anyway.
