Atrial Fibrillation (AFib) Support Group
Atrial fibrillation (AF or afib) is an abnormal heart rhythm (cardiac arrhythmia) which involves the two small, upper heart chambers (the atria). Heart beats in a normal heart begin after electricity generated in the atria by the sinoatrial node spread through the heart and cause contraction of the heart muscle and pumping of blood.
Laura....just knowing you are not alone can be such a comfort, and there is always someone ready to listen and help 24/7 here in Afib-Land.

If I may, although wicked challenging most people don't die do to AF unless they have complicated issues that go unresolved.
"Cancer" and other conditions usually do not have a very promising outcome. Some can result in severe amputations or death. At least for the most part there are means to treat AF as much as it can be,.....
All the best and hang in there. NSR in 2015 to all.
Yes cancer is rough and daunting I have been through it and know more than I want to know about treatments. A fib is causing more anxiety that I am trying to calm down. Anxiety about afib is helped by this village. I have another village I see in person for cancer.
I don't list all my issues as I like it I don't look sick and do not want to act sick .

Cancer, afib, etc. A fib is scary because it can be so immediate and intense. In any case (after an ablation, which lasted about a year) I just adjusted. A small dose of Celexa, which I've taken for years, also helps my anxiety. My cardiologist also doesn't seem concerned abut my permanent a-fib, so I just learn to cope, keep my alcohol/caffiene intake very low, etc. has helped. You don't usually die from a-fib, but of course you can with cancer.
I have found a psychologist who helps me a lot and I found one who has an interest in medical issues, health, etc. so its about day-to-day coping.
And yes, frequenlty reading, if not always posting, on this site.
best for 2015!
handling it is so helpful;) and knowing that I can come here to share
and ask questions is calming.
Thank you all SO much.
Hugs and love,
Christine
