Atrial fibrillation (AF or afib) is an abnormal heart rhythm (cardiac arrhythmia) which involves the two small, upper heart chambers (the atria). Heart beats in a normal heart begin after electricity generated in the atria by the sinoatrial node spread through the heart and cause contraction of the heart muscle and pumping of blood.

Hey guys, sorry I haven't been on lately I have been busy. I did want to let you know that on Tuesday March 12th, I will be having my surgery. I am having and ICD put in, and he is going to go in a little further to wrap an extra wirethrough and around my heart so it will help my ventricles pump at the same time. My left ventricle is so weak it doesn't pump insync with the right. So it will be like a pacemaker/defibrillator at once. It should help me tremendously, in high hopes that everything goes as planned! Thank you all for you support and thoughts. Keep you up dated when I come home from hospital on Wed.

Wow, that's great news. It's probably a CRT-D which means Cardiac Resynchronization Therapy Defibrillator. AKA a Bi-ventricular Defibrillator. The primary function as you already know is to synchronize the pacing in the two ventricles. It can make a world of difference to those suffering LBBB.

Any idea what features your device will have? I recommend the GPS model that also allows you to play music and videos.

Many prayers to you I have a dual chamber pacemaker and at first was scared to death but now its been 6 months and I forget I have it most of the time. You will feel much better and more secure when they get through. Let us know please
