Atrial Fibrillation (AFib) Support Group
Atrial fibrillation (AF or afib) is an abnormal heart rhythm (cardiac arrhythmia) which involves the two small, upper heart chambers (the atria). Heart beats in a normal heart begin after electricity generated in the atria by the sinoatrial node spread through the heart and cause contraction of the heart muscle and pumping of blood.
Had a really nice experience on Friday...got to meet one of our gang in person! Paul and I met in Philadelphia at Steve's Prince of Cheesesteaks. I have exchanged posts with many of you on this website, and I thought it would be really nice to actually meet up with a fellow sufferer in person and discuss our lives. So it was really nice to hang out, even if it was just for a few hours. Paul, as you probably can tell from his postings, is a pretty smart guy. I wrongly assumed, because we are the same age, that we would both be right-wingers, but this was not the case. Paul was a University professor, so he is very smart AND more liberal politically than I.
What a nice experience. And if any of you in the Philly area are looking for a GREAT cheesesteak, Steve's is the place! Of course, we all talk about eating healthier so it wasn't a good idea from that aspect.
Oh yeah, Paul did say when he met me "You aren't as fat in person as you look in your picture." Hey, being a dude, I didn't let that bother me. I just went home, looked at myself in a full length mirror, ate a gallon of ice cream and cried myself to sleep...Dudes do NOT overreact to those kinds of comments.
Maybe Across the Pond will invite us over for a cookout at the feet of the Alps? Now THAT would be a nice lunch!

Anyhow, Bill is not so much of a right-winger as he thinks (and that's coming from a left wing New York Liberal). He's open minded and very well traveled. I thoroughly enjoyed our visit. He even threatened to come visit some day so I could take him to the old neighborhood in Da Bronx for some eggplant parm.
I became Catholic WAY after the no meat ever on Fridays....I am just no meat on Friday during Lent. Of course, will find out in a few years whether or not I messed up on that....will hear directly from Father Flanagan..or Pat O'Brien, either way..

It might be a little far from where you live (unless you live in Switzerland ;-)) be sure to bring your jammies. And we dont live at the feet of the Alps theyre a good hours drive away!! So dont expect Julie Andrews and The Sound of Music type scenery! Beautiful, yes, of course but wed have to organize a special appearance of a yodeling-club if you wanted Swiss music Yodel-Ay-Ee-Oooo! Fireworks? You just missed them, too; that was August 1st.
Youre right though, that would be a nice lunch! (I can do healthy, too, if need be ;-))
