Atrial Fibrillation (AFib) Support Group
Atrial fibrillation (AF or afib) is an abnormal heart rhythm (cardiac arrhythmia) which involves the two small, upper heart chambers (the atria). Heart beats in a normal heart begin after electricity generated in the atria by the sinoatrial node spread through the heart and cause contraction of the heart muscle and pumping of blood.
I have written the following comment to the "HELP" page on Daily Strength. Perhaps more of you would like to comment to them.
"I have written to you at least four times over the last few months regarding slow system performance. I have been an active and daily member of the AFIB group for seven years. Up until the recent perform issues, over the last few months, there were around a hundred active participants with ten or more posts per day. Now there are only one or two posts per week. I suppose because the system is so slow that it has become virtually unusable, that people have just given up.
This is totally unacceptable. 40 years ago, when I ran systems the outside time to paint a screen (over a 56,000 bit per second line) was three seconds. Now on my 100,000,000 bit per second line, it takes several minutes for you the paint a screen. It's hard to believe that technology has deteriorated that far.
Please fix your system, there are so many people you get a great deal of value from this service. It's a shame to see it go down the toilet."

I just got a new computer, last Thurs. and am having a challenge working my way around the new Windows 10. When I had had enough of Windows 10, I would come here to relax...and I never got the site to load.
There is no sunset tonight, so I waited it out, and appreciated your message. I agree, if anyone has the time, it might help if a lot of us complain. It has always been slow here, but this is ridiculous!!!!
PS....I went 7 mos. 3 weeks and 3 days NSR.
Tomorrow, I will have one week.....such a weird unpredictable thing this afib is!!!!!
I dont think Daily Strength has much interest in updating this site, they have just released the beta version of their new site. I looked at it yesterday and after about 5 minutes I found a bunch of things they should change but generally found my way around okay. The best thing about the new site is you can delete or edit your entries (finally!). But they still have a lot of work to do ergo, probably no time for updates on this site.
Yoga, 7 months, almost 8 months wowsie! Sorry you had another attack. Maybe you are now one week into a year of NSR!!

Wow yoga, 7 months is a long time, there is hope. I only have one or two events a year, but sure have to watch my triggers if I don't want palpitations. They rarely lead into afib. Thank goodness. They are just annoying.
And yes I agree this is dirt slow....drat...
In most production environments, this sort of thing would be fixed within a few hours. The monetary loss of poor performance (and demands of investors), would not tolerate delay. I've also worked for third party service organizations maintaining web infrastructures. In these situations there are service level agreements. The service provider has multiple performance parameters that must be met, each on a graduated scale. Heavy financial penalties are imposed for failure to meet any of the contractually negotiated parameters. We are talking millions here.
I suspect (but do not know) that Daily Strength is more of a charitable organization (thus we are not bombarded with ads and pop ups) and they probably want to towards servicing a multi-platform clientele (the kids with phones). Their mission is commendable. So we are being patient. It just gets so frustrating, and I miss all our ongoing discussions.
Still worth waiting for this site to load up to read the wit and wisdom of the folks who post here.
I have no problems here. When I saw your post I was sure you were commenting on how slow things are in our forum meaning that not much is going on and not many new posts are being done.
Did we already covered everything there was to cover? Did we actually did a complete circle? Nothing left to say?
