Atrial Fibrillation (AFib) Support Group
Atrial fibrillation (AF or afib) is an abnormal heart rhythm (cardiac arrhythmia) which involves the two small, upper heart chambers (the atria). Heart beats in a normal heart begin after electricity generated in the atria by the sinoatrial node spread through the heart and cause contraction of the heart muscle and pumping of blood.
I'm guessing the left-side thing happens because the vagus nerve can be stimulated in that position.
Such a crazy condition!!!!!!!!!
That said, I was thinking along petey's lines about the possibility of organs or the weight of muscles pressing against the heart. With that in mind, it occurred to me that sleeping on my back may be best. I"m just learning how to do this; I've slept on my stomach/side all my life. who knows, maybe it's a a non issue! Just curious.
