2.52am and still out of whack. Not sure if I should take my usual dose of flecainaide now or not. Took an extra dose of100mg 2 hours ago with no effect. That's what the specialist said to do.

What time do you take your usual dose?
If I understood, you took an extra 100mg around midnight?
And then asked if you should take your usual dose "now" at 2:52 am?
Seems an odd time usual time to take meds. If that is the case though, I think I would take your usual dose.
Try to relax, take some deep breaths, even try to sleep. I find I convert the fastest if I lay very quiet, meditative.

NSR, but if not I understand your feelings.
At least the new year can only get better from here for you!

Thanks all. I take my usual dose at about 7am, but last night took an extra one at 1am and then instead of taking my usual one at 7am I too it at 2.52am.

6.22am: Wow. I took some deep breaths just now as read your reply marikay and I think it has shifted back to a fast but regular SR!!!

What a relief! Was just thinking about heading down to the hospital so I could get an ECG of it for the specialist. Not sure about lying down now tho!

Hope you stay in NSR and that your heart slows down. If you have a bp machines it will show your heart rate and show if your heart i beating evenly. I won't buy one that detects skipped beats as it would scare me more. I watch the h.b. on the monitor. Anyhow, I hope you have a better night and will be free for a while of NSR. I find that the deep breaths help, too. I also use the Reperate machine for b.p. and relaxation. I have always been so healthy so am not used to this (I guess no-one is). I don't want to jinx things but I have been in NSR for three months since my dr. put me on Sotalol. Do you take Warfarin? Please take care and I wish you the best:) Keep us posted. I wont throw you under the bus, auntymo, for having alcohol. In my experience, AF is more "on its own schedule" than triggered by anything. Chin up. This too shall pass.

so sorry to here the af monster reared its ugly little head tonight on u auntymo...hope your back in nsr now...when i have to take an extra flecanide it can take up to 3 hours for it to work...best wishes shannon

Thanks again for the support. Pretty sure the trigger was all the cake so late at night, watching 3 episodes of Game of Thrones back to back. About 20 mins after the first piece I could feel my heart kind of jiggling around, as if there was an internal pressure (maybe indigestion as I don't eat much gluten!)

Hoorah for NSR! Yes I think the second dose of flecainide took a good few hours to kick in. I'm convinced that the lemoncello didn't have anything to do with this episode, but might just be kidding myself!
