Atrial fibrillation (AF or afib) is an abnormal heart rhythm (cardiac arrhythmia) which involves the two small, upper heart chambers (the atria). Heart beats in a normal heart begin after electricity generated in the atria by the sinoatrial node spread through the heart and cause contraction of the heart muscle and pumping of blood.
After my TIA in November I started on both of these meds at the same time. Within a few weeks I began experiencing an intermittent mild headache, always in the same spot -- the right forehead.
When I look at the side effects of both of these drugs they both list headaches.
Has anyone sorted through this issue?

I heard back from the EP's nurse that he thinks it may be the dilitiazem.
I'll see him next week to find out what my afib burden is after the 30-day monitor, and to discuss rhythm control drugs or ablation.

If you look back in the threads about two years ago (April/May 2014) you will find that I got a tooth/gum infection about two weeks after my ablation. My heart went nuts, 600 events in 30 days. It was also a tooth that had a root canal, so I didn't feel it. There was also a problem with another tooth that I felt. Fortunately, the periodontist was able to deal with them.
Problems with teeth that have had root canals can be tricky, since you might not feel it in the tooth. AND, there seems to be a direct connection between the teeth an the heart.
