There's one thing that is for sure with a fib: NOTHING IS FOR SURE!!

I have the same problem but the Dr. doesn't seem worried about it since it lasts such a short time. Sometimes it lasts only seconds and only goes from 60 to 90 bpm. It usually happens when I'm lacking sleep or dehydrated or overexcited about something.

Hmm, interesting, Shantima. Do you know what the abnormal beat is? A fib or a tachy?

I did a little reading. AT is VERY common after afib ablation, even after the 3 month blanking period. It is true the frequency and degree of symptoms determine whether they pay much atention to it. It is more common with persistent and longstanding afib AND the type/method/degree of ablation. They sometimes do a touch up if it is seen to be a problem due to uncomfortable symptoms or doctor's determination. petey

Heart, it's a very regular beat. NSR. It will just jump 20-30 beats faster out of the blue. It only lasts 10-20 seconds and drops back to normal which for me has been around 60 bpm since my ablation. However it feels like af only minor compared to before the ablation. If I stay hydrated, rested, relaxed, don't eat to much and remember it's a lot better than before it's definitely something I can live with. They seem to be less often and I think Petey's on the money with his assessment. All this aside I can see having a tuneup down the road but for now I have bigger health problems that need attention.

It does feel like a fib, but doesn't last as long. My fear is that sometime it will start and then not stop.

I guess we just have to take it one day at a time, right?

Heart, all we can ever do is take it one day at a time no matter what stands in front of us. I try to stay in the moment as often as I can. I tell myself, in this moment I'm alright. When I'm in af I tell myself this moment will pass and another moment will come without this and it will be a good moment again.

I really like that - great way of managing in a positive manner.

It's taken me a long time to finally just accept this as something that is just part of life. Now, when I have an episode, I know I'll convert back. I just sack out on the couch and let things take their course.
