Good luck with your echo, hopefully all is well. As far as elevated I just sleep on my right side and have not had it hit me as long as I stay that way and when it does I go to the recliner. Try to make sure you are on your right side as you travel and it should help. Eat a light evening meal too! Good luck!

Thanks, Daisy, your advice sounds like how I need to behave. I do eat a very light PM meal, sometimes skip it altogether. Thanks for the good luck wishes, I've never had all these tests before and they're kind of intimidating. (I'll try the recliner trick next time it gets bad at night).

As far as I know, the Echo was unremarkable, but have yet to see doc as I still have one week to go on my 30-day event monitor. HOWEVER, last night had an event beginning at 12:30 and lasting until I got up at 7:00 AM. It was mainly tachycardia, that I could tell, though there were irregular beats too. Needless to say, I'm really tired out today and don't want to wait another week for this to be finished. Blood work also came back unremarkable. I have an appt, with doc next Tuesday, so I guess I'll have to wait till then to find out what this is and what I need to do. Monday is bad enough, glad I don't have too much to do today. Beautiful fall day here in western MD. Hope your day is fine!

Glad your tests seem to be okay, it is tough waiting to go back to the doc to get a treatment plan going, you can make yourself crazy with the wait, Rest up today and try to find things to do to keep your mind off as best you can, since i is a nice day go sit outside and try and read or listen to some music, you will get past this. Thanks for all the kind words, folks. The monitoring company did their job and the cardiologist called me to advise that the event on Sunday night was, in fact, afib and she wants me on Xarelto immediately. Have to get a stress echo before she will give me any rate meds. So at least now I know what it is. Not the worst thing in the world, but still it sure does make you think about what's down the road. I know a good attitude is important, just need to adjust to this news.

Acceptance comes easier when you know what you are dealing with. Glad that the diagnosis part is over...no more wondering or guessing.

I have had paroxysmal afib for 3+ yrs. It is an annoying condition, but, manageable. Best Wishes as you progress with tests and treatment plan.

Junie- Im with Yogacat; knowing what you are dealing with makes it a bit easier. It sounds like you have a good cardiologist, too! Through. Im sure you and she will work out a plan that works perfectly for you.

My Cardiologist (Only 2nd visit) with him as we moved from Co.end of May and was with Kaiser Permanente, which isn't out here, so had to find different Pcp and cardiologist) He has ordered me a 30 day event monitor which will come to the house - not looking forward to this. Did they put yours on for you? They just told me to wear it and I go back at the @ beginning of December. I had my first a-fib attack in March of 2013 and 2nd one in Sept of 2o13. I amn Sotalol 80(Mg twice daily. I also take warfarin2.5 Mg at night. This cardiologist does not like Warfarin and we discussed Eloquis but is too expensive. So, he wants to see if the a-fib is still there - never heard of it going away! Then he said he would only give me aspirin (I mentioned to him that I thought you had to have stronger and. I Have a Chad score of 1. Has anyone ever heard of a-fib just going away? Please give ME FEEDBACK!

Hi,Sorry to hear that you may have afib. No they did not put my monitor it came in the mail and I called them on the phone and they gave me instructions how to use. I too had 2 events beginning in 2014 one in March and in September but while I was wearing the 30-day MonItor which I just got rid of , I had one event during October of this year too. I have never heard of it going away and they have not given me anything but Xarelto at this point . I do have a cardiology appointment next week and hope to discuss medications etc. Good luck wearing the monitor it is a very useful tool and you will not find it too distracting I don't think
