Well, I'm pretty much having the AFIB everyday because of my ablation. I know that people and my Doctor would say that the ablation would not cause the AFIB to be more frequent, but how can it not be the ablation when before the surgery, right up until the day of the surgery, I had 1-2 episodes a week. The day after the procedure, it has been almost everyday. It could only be 10 min or 2 hrs. Sometimes it is 3 or 4 times a day. I just had a 30 min episode and 10 minutes later I had one for 15 min. My rate ping ponged between 120 and 185 bpm. It also seems like I am more sensitive to stuff. It has been 10 months and I am still not at the point where I can say I am glad I did it. So one of my questions I often wonder is, is it my doctor and his ablating skills or could it be me and they way my heart has responded to the trauma of the ablation? This is one of the reasons I put off the procedure for so long is because of these types of stories that I would read on the internet. Peoples arrhythmias becoming worse BECAUSE of the procedures. I brought this up to my doc on the day I decided to have it, and he did say yes, those internet stories can happen, but he has never experienced them himself. My next appt is on Jan. 7 and I'll have to make a decision whether to do it again but it looks like he hasn't left me much of a choice. If the first ablation caused me to go more frequent, what will the second one do? Now for more positive, the ablation did reduce the severity of the episodes. They are not as violent and debilitating as they were before. I try hard to be positive and not feel like I made a mistake, but it is hard. I have moderate to severe tinnitus, too much sirens and loud music, and have had to learn to live with it as there is no cure. Maybe I need to do the same with the AFIB that I now have everyday BECAUSE of the ablation. Still playing Petey, but mostly acoustic as it is easier on the crickets and teapots in my ears.

Will you share why? I have a choice between Rythmol and Metoprolol. The Rythmol takes me out of afib faster, but I seem to feel safer with the beta blocker. What was your experience?? TY~

How long does it take for you to kick back into NSR when you take a pill? The PIP didn't always get me back into NSR in a good time. For me, the episodes were so fast and chaotic, that reducing the rate was my only hope of getting back in. I would go with whatever works, Yoga. If an anti arrhythmic worked best for me, I would take it.

So sorry to hear about your experience, Mark. I hadn't read a thread before that said they worsened a fib, just maybe didn't stop it.

Are you considering getting a second EP's opinion since the first ablation didn't go well?
