Atrial Fibrillation (AFib) Support Group
Atrial fibrillation (AF or afib) is an abnormal heart rhythm (cardiac arrhythmia) which involves the two small, upper heart chambers (the atria). Heart beats in a normal heart begin after electricity generated in the atria by the sinoatrial node spread through the heart and cause contraction of the heart muscle and pumping of blood.
Your EP gave you great advice. Document everything and this will help him or her to find the appropriate medication and dosage. Give it some time, your follow up appointment is in 3 weeks and hopefully by then you will get some more answers.
Best wishes to you and NSR to everybody.
I hope your afib episodes resolve soon!!!!!!!
I wish you luck! Welcome to the group!

I , too, was on Tikosyn. It didn't work for me either. I dont' know what to tell you as to how long it works. I wasn't in AF when they put me on it. My question to them was, how will you know whether it works? They said if the AF doesn't come back. Well, it did come back.
Although when I was in the hospital with AF and they put me on sotolol, they didn't discharge me until I converted. That was a matter of days. So doesn't seem like the lag time is that much...
