Heart beats in a normal heart begin after electricity generated in the atria by the sinoatrial node spread through the heart and cause contraction of the heart muscle and pumping of blood.

Successful stage three clinical trials for NOAC reversal agent extended to Xarelto, previously tested with Eliquis. Portola Pharm stock up 7+ % on the news. I hope this stuff comes to market soon.

Paul news:
I've now been cleared to switch from Coumadin to Eliquis. I take my first Eliquis pill tonight. Nerve racking, I haven't taken any Coumadin for 4 days.

Great news. Can't get on the market too soon for me. I've been taking Xarelto since the end of October and it still makes me kind of scared sometimes a lot scared

Pradaxa and Xarelto are at the same place as Eliquis with the antidotes. Paul: Eliquis starts working after a couple hours as do the other NOACs (unlike Coumadin that gradually takes effect and subsides slowly). petey

Here's the latest press release from Portola regarding ANDEXANET, the new antidote (for Xa inhibitors, Eliquis and Xarelto) . This is a phase four study in coordination with the FDA. Looks like early next year release at the earliest if there are no stumbling blocks. Here's the announcement:

This is good news. The only thing stopping me from taking one of the NOACs instead of rat poison is the lack of an antidote. Thanks for posting those links Paul!
