Atrial fibrillation (AF or afib) is an abnormal heart rhythm (cardiac arrhythmia) which involves the two small, upper heart chambers (the atria). Heart beats in a normal heart begin after electricity generated in the atria by the sinoatrial node spread through the heart and cause contraction of the heart muscle and pumping of blood.
in the Hello, I was confirmed as a Afib subsciber about a month ago... I am 48 years old and have never had a problem with my heart I do have Hypertension, I was out mowing the lawn,it was very hot that day, I felt winded and took a blast of my ventolin being I asthmatic, I came inside took a shower and my heart was beating out of my chest, worried I went to the hospital and low and behold they admited me. They brought me down to NSR and sent me home on, new medicines Deltizem and Eliquis and just a week later back in Afib, they brought me back to NSR, and my Deltizem was increased. I have been good since, but I feel a chest cold coming on and am worried about medications interacting with others, I have googled them but with no results. I had taken Coricidin HBP in the past but am afraid of a drug interaction, being I am asthmatic I also take a nebulizer treatment sometimes and am worried it might put me into Afib Any Ideas? Thanks for letting me introduce myself....
Hope everything is well. I believe you might be going throught a pretty stressful time right now, and that, can trigger new incidents for sure.
Can you explain exactly what do you mean with
"I feel a chest cold coming on" ? do you mean, like a respiratory tract infection?
If you have liver problems due to other medications then those two new meds will interact for sure especially the Eliquis. Although, Eliquis is way safer than Xarelto for my research. Kinda strange why they gave you Eliquis if you just went through a cardioversion. I would probably say that you are in Europe and not in north-america.
