I TOOK THIS BP AND lately it has been coming high ,even though i have lost some weight .

the doc took me off lisinopril and put me on losartin 100 mg . before i was on lisinopril.amoldipine .

i am little concerned .

any advice would be appreciated

Hi Ray:
BP can vary a lot from day to day, and from morning till evening (I'm higher in the evening). Make a chart (I use a spreadsheet) and take your BP daily around the same time once in the AM and once in the PM (mark the time on your sheet). If you use a spreadsheet, then it can do a mean and median over the period. Do that for a month or more then bring it to the doc.

I take 5 mg Amlodipine (Norvasc) daily and average high 120's / around 70 with a low 50's heart rate. On occasion I can get to 140/75 with a HR of 80 (but rarely) (unless I'm in AFIB).

So, you bottom BP is a little high and your HR is a little high. See what it averages over a month. Watch the salt.

Before you take your BP, sit, relaxing for 5 minutes.......and, it is good to empty your bladder before. Not doing both of these things can cause an inaccurate reading.

My Dr. had me take my BP once a day at different times for 2 weeks

That was just about exactly what my BP and bpm was this AM before my carvedilol. At that time, was also having a lot of PACs. However, during the day, it's 111/58 with pulse at 62. I bought a new BP machine recently and have been taking it 2x day just to see the variations. Time of day can be significant for me.

I just went to two doc appointments today....first one (cardiologist), BP was 134/74. Half an hour later, I was at the naturopath, and it was 112/70. Both said my BP was fine, and the naturopathic nurse said that BP can and does vary quite a bit during the day. K, so how this helps you I don't know...but perhaps you do just need to check it at various times of the day to see how it is doing.

It is amazing how B.P. can vary! Mine has been off the charts at doctor's Office. It has been like this for over 20 yrs. I am now on
lisinopril and carvedilol. The day last week when I had my echo it was 180/90 (Dr said it was due to the worrying I did all day. That night it was down to 107/66. I take it am and pm and it is mostly under 120. This is with or without medicines, but I do take the mess noe - a hard decision. Junibe; I never did receive the e- mail that u you were having trouble sending me - could u try again, please.
