Atrial Fibrillation (AFib) Support Group
Atrial fibrillation (AF or afib) is an abnormal heart rhythm (cardiac arrhythmia) which involves the two small, upper heart chambers (the atria). Heart beats in a normal heart begin after electricity generated in the atria by the sinoatrial node spread through the heart and cause contraction of the heart muscle and pumping of blood.
OK so finnaly i had the meeting with E P and who is also a cardiologist and a fellow of heart rythem society .
Since I am in afib all the time , we have decided to not do an ablation ,also he felt that even if we do cardioversion i will be back in afib .
My blood pressure in the office was 120/68/50 he was concerned regarding my low pulse or heart rate .
he has decided that i should take half of digoxin tablet instead of full .25 gm.
first he said to delte completely but then he said to have a digoxin test along with pottasium test .and then he will decide .
also for last few weeks i feel lazy and tired and he said may be by cutting digoxin it will help .
one more thing as far as xcersise he mentioned not to xceed 130 on my heart rate and also not do isotermic xcersice which i didnt understand but i think it is not too much weight lifting .
i had lost 15 lbs since my last visit and i am also now borderline diabetic .
i am now 5 11 and 239 lbs but he wants me to go on dash 2000 diet , doen any one one know about what it is .

His diagnosis is that I am going in and out of afib, rate control is not effective for me. During my visit he did an ecg and I was in NSR..
His recommendation is catheter ablation. He felt that exercising was fine at high heart rate as long as the HR was not prolonged which for me has been the case.
I found Dr Natale very energetic, sincere, knowledgaeable and caring. His staff is very professional, caring and informative. There is what I would almost call a "rock star" quality about Dr Natale as he is revered by his staff. You sense that you are in the presence of an outstanding physician and man.
I had very few questions for Dr Natale as the reason for my visit was to get his opinion on my condition and recommended treatment.
i did mention that i feel sleepy an tired but he would rather keep me on rate control meds .
