Yes I did. My EP hounded me until I got one. I ordered several different kinds of bracelets on the internet. Some were for casual, one looked like a beaded bracelet for when I had to dress up for a special occasion. All of them had my condition, and all the meds I took engraved on them.

I just ordered a dog tag necklace...i wasn't sure what to put on it so i may have to get another one down the road.

I just bought one, found the type of bracelet I wanted and put my diagnosis on it, decided not to put meds because they seem to be changing lately.

Excellent idea if you are on an anticoagulant. Even a wallet card is helpful. EMT's and ER will look for that if no one is there to give any history. Good idea for your spouse to have a list of your meds as well.

You drive around while not wearing anything? What state are you in? Nevada?

I was just carring paper in my pocket. Would not hold up so put it in a plastic little deal and carry in back jean's pocket. So far stays in pocket and I guess better then nothing. Ins company, my son's name and on warfarin. Got my name. The clinic/hospital in this town has my records and down home. I guess I should have my Dr's name on it and his phone number? I am not sure what I should have on it. I do go places and no purse and it is not in there either. I guess they will go through your pockets? My nephew got hit by car in Denver and did not come to for months. He had a card or something in billfold and listed his cousin as next of kin. Most of you carry a ID like driver's license. I am not driving and my Driver's license is still good and in my purse.

I still have not filed my medical power of attorney I was told to file a copy with Dr and copy with the hospitals. Told me better than living will and I did not need both. One of the doctors when mine was gone told me I did not have one filed and what did I want. Here I am down in bed in the hospital asking me. They can pick good times. How many have these filed. ? You younger ones probably not but us elderly (ha!) should I take it. Maybe I should have one in that ID case too? I have not made out my will yet either. I guess do it and put in my notebook I have with the cemetary lot at national cemetary. Copy of birth certificate and marrage license and something. It will them the dates. I need get grand kids listed and maybe great grand kids.

At 81 I should do it. I read good piece on doing a will. And the letter of instructions.

I am in my 50's and I have a medical power of attorney. At 81, you need to get one. Once you have one done, carry it with you, and give a copy to the person who you name to oversee your medical decisions. I also have a living will, that I have given a copy to my power of attorney. The living will makes it easier for you power of attorney to know, understand and follow through with you medical wishes.
