FWIW: My taking Potassium and Magnesium daily is ass a result of first hand deficiencies on ocassion being diagnosed and reading all of the info on this subject. Personally, I really believe that there is something to it. I don't know anything about Taurine? ;) - Thomas

I take potassium which is prescribed because I also take a diuretic. I also take magnesium on the suggestion of my EP. I have not tried taurine...interested to know if anyone thinks they can tell a benefit.

I'm not sure if the potassium and magnesium have made any difference in my a fib......but I stopped having leg cramps after I started magnesium

I take all 3 and on my own. I take others too on my own. It is all listed for the INR tests and the Dr has the list too. I do have book that says safe amounts. I have macular degeneration and I need vitamins and herbs for that. Some have not effect on yhr INR. I have the list they gave of 0nes I take rather i does what.

I have arthritis and RA I had been taking aspirin. When I got Afib Dr said no aspirin. If I do not have something I will flare up. He gave me a choice of some over the counter ones. I take iburprofen. Only one in morning and one in evening. He let me set what amount I wanted/needed. I am on warfarin. As it does affect the warfarin I do have to do a steady day after day. Only time I have taken more was when I fell and hit my head. For two days I took one at noon time. I did not have any one to ask on weekend. The when I went for headaches he never said take more and only use hot packs and excerise. Said headache was caused by tightened up muscles in neck/back of head. I have not flare up so must work some and I still aches some time from arthirtis. But it seems to be working for me and my hands are much more limber. But now both big toes hurt and I hope the worse of that is over. I only go to a GP. So that seems all I need. The have the INR tests.

Basiclaly these two per day is my limit as they do make warfarin work better. I have to take all the timne as I said. MIne is factored in I would guess. Colds and such I do not take more and I suffer it out.

My potassium was slightly low so I starting getting more via food. My palpitations have ceased since then. I started taking Mg and Taurine after reading about them on this and similar sites. This was done on my own - no MD recommendations. I've had no Afib since I started on them. Having said that, my fingers are crossed.

I asked my Dr. about taking Potassium, and he said my blood tests showed that I had a good level, and not to take it. He said too much is not good.

I take both Magnesium and Taurine.....400mg of Magnesium twice a day and 2 Gm of taurine in 1 Gm doses twice a day, although the maximum recom. for the taurine for afib is up to 3 Gm.....I read numerous articles about Taurine & its possible help with a fib & also with nerve pain ( which I have from another source ) the same 2 things for Magnesium and I discussed it with my cardiologist/EP who fully approved of me taking both....most Drs wont jump on the bandwagon with natural supp. but he did say a lot of people take both of these and that there is a lot of good evidence they can be helpful. I feel no ill effects from either and *knock on wood* I have been in a very lovely reg sinus with no *nuthin* bad for quite sometime now.....I dont take Potassium as my blood level is very normal and it can do more harm than good if you dont need it. I am pretty much a believer at this point........
