Atrial Fibrillation (AFib) Support Group

Atrial fibrillation (AF or afib) is an abnormal heart rhythm (cardiac arrhythmia) which involves the two small, upper heart chambers (the atria). Heart beats in a normal heart begin after electricity generated in the atria by the sinoatrial node spread through the heart and cause contraction of the heart muscle and pumping of blood.

Well, it's certainly been a long time since I stopped in here at Daily Strength. It's quite obvious that there's been a major website reconstruct during my absense. A little tricky to get used to at first. I hope all is well and who's still here from the old site?? - Tom (aka: Surfrat)

Most are on stop afib forum. I tried to log in after not being on this site for over a year. It said banned! Maybe EB the bentonite guy stole my account again and posted bad stuff. I had to come up with a new account using gmail. I still have trouble with the format here.

Hello. Hope you all are having a better summer than me! I had a successful ablation in 2011 but the Afib came back this summer. In fact, I'm in Afib all the time now. I'm scheduled to have a TEE and a heart conversion next Thursday.
I would appreciate hearing from anyone who has had these procedures.

I just saw in my email (via an alert) that this thread was still active. I'll have to start trying to stop by here more often. Evidently, StopAfib.org has been getting all the action these days and Petey is an administrator/moderator there. I hope everyone here is well and hanging in there. TTYL. ;)

Thanks for the good news that Petey is still around, he was a great support to me and so knowledgable I do not like the new changes here and I dont see any of the group. I am still kicking and my pacemaker is still ticking and I still have my periods of Afib. In fact I had 63 episodes in the last 13 months according to pacemaker reading,

Hi Surfrat/Tom, seems like the redo of this site really helped with increasing member (not). So StopAfib is the place to go i guess....Can't argue with the name, like yeah stop it already.

Hi Tom, Glad your doing well. Sure would love to reach out to the oldies on here but tracking them down is a little to much. I read where you said Petey moved on the other site. I did try to track him down but I am not that savvy on computer and I went to the site but did not know how to actually reach out to him. Thanks for the info though, I now know he is doing well also. You take care and check in now and again as I will to just let each other know we are still ticking. You take care and be safe
