In alot of ways, taking care of the sleep apnea may be the best thing for your health. Let your doctor know about the INR.

There are so many things that affect your INR # it would be best to discuss with your medical provider. How frequently do you check it and what is your target zone?
I'm lucky, my HMO has a specialized staff for INR monitoring. I get my INR checked in the AM per a schedule and I usually receive an email within a few hours with the results. If any dosage adjustments are suggested, then I get a call from the "Coumadin Clinic" with dosage instructions. I'm getting mine checked weekly now as my ablation date approaches.

Remember even eating leafy vegetables can affect your INR

Ray2600: I should have said that a lot of things affect how the warfarin stays and works in your system, especially your diet. Heart2222 has it right about leafy vegetables. Not to avoid them, but try to keep a consistent diet while you are taking warfarin. If your diet is consistent, your dosage levels needed should be more predictable.

Heart2222: I'm not sure how I will feel when the morning of my procedure comes, but I am mentally prepared now for March 1st.
It's a couple hours drive in heavy traffic to get to the hospital so I am staying in a hotel near the hospital before and after my procedure. I have someone already arranged to take me and my wife (she won't drive on the highway) from the hotel to the hospital. I've done as much as I can to avoid other forms of stress the morning of the procedure. I took off from work the day before also to get some blood work done and get an EKG. I have nothing else planned for that day, other than driving to the hotel in the evening after traffic subsides.
After I am released from the hospital on day 2, I will stay in the hotel for another night before I drive home.
My teenage daughter will be staying near home with family so she doesn't miss school, and also so that source of stress and drama for me will also be avoided.

I do my own INRs and adjust my coumadin dose. If my result is far out of range, it is immediately called to my doctor. In any case, all results are sent (for the record) to my doc.

I have a Coagucheck Monitor. Insurance pays for it if you have a certain number of risks or other difficulties.

Good luck rfreeze! I look forward to your posts once the procedure is over and you are feeling up to it. I remember being both excited and nervous at the same time the morning of my procedure...kind of like the feeling you get when you were a kid standing in line, waiting to get on the rollercoaster. Do you mean metformin? It can interact with warfarin/coumadin. Me, I take an extra warfarin once a week if I have to, but I tesst at home, so it's no problem keeping on top of it. It's been running 2.9, so that's good.
