Atrial Fibrillation (AFib) Support Group
Atrial fibrillation (AF or afib) is an abnormal heart rhythm (cardiac arrhythmia) which involves the two small, upper heart chambers (the atria). Heart beats in a normal heart begin after electricity generated in the atria by the sinoatrial node spread through the heart and cause contraction of the heart muscle and pumping of blood.
Omega-6 fatty acid (oils in chips, cookies, junk food, fried stuff) is another big cause for inflammation.
Following are the stuff to take to bring down inflammation:
- Omega-3 fatty acid (in flaxseed, hemp protein, Acai berry) and/or fish oil.
- Curcumin (Turmeric extract), Turmeric
The blood test to measure the inflammation is : CRP (C-Reactive Protein) hig sensitivity.
For your info, my CRP is very low (.8, max is 3) and I still get afib. I take good amount of curcumin every day.
I do NOT know about the afib and inflammation, but for the past 20 years, I have been reading all kinds of research about the connection between heart disease and gum disease.
