I N R NUMBERS

Hi ,
for the last few times my IN R has been coming at high such as 3.1 , 3.2 and 3.4 .

I AM ON WARAFIN AND DO GO TO CLINIC TO get the report .

my question is should i be concerned or not .

3.2 is not that far out of line. Usually when my INR is over three, which happens occasionally, I'm told to hold back one pill (5mg) for the week or eat an extra salad or two for the week and come back in two weeks for a recheck. Mine has been as high 4.5 and I've been unable to explain why except some change in diet. I can generally tell when I'm too low or high by bleeding/bruising frequency. I'm pushing for a home unit so I can get faster results but my insurance co. is balking. Good luck!

That's not bad INR. Is your Doc adjusting the dosage to keep
it a little lower? Usually between 2 and 3 is good for most
people.

I would talk to your Doc.

yes he is how can i get a home unit and from where .

Let your doctors office know you want a home monitoring unit. They are the ones who will get the ball rolling.

It's high. It should be between 2 and 3, which means you need help regulating your meds. The clinic should be able to help you with that. What I do when I'm a little high is either skip a day or two or take 1/2, but that is something you need to decide with the clinic. Good luck.
