Atrial fibrillation (AF or afib) is an abnormal heart rhythm (cardiac arrhythmia) which involves the two small, upper heart chambers (the atria). Heart beats in a normal heart begin after electricity generated in the atria by the sinoatrial node spread through the heart and cause contraction of the heart muscle and pumping of blood.

after my last episode I feel like I need a good cry..they tell me stress and getting upset can cause this..when I feel bad because of meds or just colds I'm afraid it will happen again..thanks for letting talk about it

What happened? Do you take any medications or follow up with your cardiologist? I have ectopic atrial tachycardia- and I'm wearing a heart monitor for a month again (four years later) to see how I'm doing. I've been feeling weird, with my heart rate higher than I'd like it to be, and random dizziness. I'm always here to talk if you need to vent!

I have a fib going into second year I've been shocked twice .the second time was 2 weeks ago . I got over it the first time quick this time I feel depressed and sacred..they changed my.meds and now I get short of. breathe..one of the side affects....i thought it would.help to talk

Anyone consider heart ablation for this condition? I'm going to try it, A friend of mine had it done 3 years ago, worked very well!

I had a flutter ablation, but I have just been diagnosed with afibs, and I am still getting afibs even though I am on very expensive meds.
Please let me know if you got the ablation and if it worked.
