Atrial fibrillation (AF or afib) is an abnormal heart rhythm (cardiac arrhythmia) which involves the two small, upper heart chambers (the atria). Heart beats in a normal heart begin after electricity generated in the atria by the sinoatrial node spread through the heart and cause contraction of the heart muscle and pumping of blood.

hello peeps hope all is doing well im trying to find a Electrophysiology but i dont know were to start i dont want to grab just anybody how do i check the credential of one in my city is there a website?

I see Dr. Arshad in this group at Valley Hospital in Ridgewood , NJ. She did my ablation, great lady. There are six EP's in the group, all specializing, researching, and teaching AFIB. The also have offices in NYC, Midtown. Give them a call, se who is available in Midtown.

BTW, if the specialist has the FHRS designation, that means he/she is a Fellow of the HRS, the highest designation.

Just looked up my EP he is FHRS. Thanks for so much good information seriously you guys make me so darn smart. I was so prepared when I saw my cardio she said I see you've done a lot of research and homework. I smiled to myself and said I have an entire DS family of AFibers knowledge under my belt.

Oh, best of luck to you! I tried Travis' website just to see how it worked and like 20 names popped up for my area. I am so happy that my search for an EP ended like it did, and I found an EP that I loved. I really hope the same for you. With all the possibilities, how does one choose? Is your last name Natale by any chance? Cuz I think it helps to be related to one of the best in the world! Best of luck to you on this very important choice.
