Atrial Fibrillation (AFib) Support Group
Atrial fibrillation (AF or afib) is an abnormal heart rhythm (cardiac arrhythmia) which involves the two small, upper heart chambers (the atria). Heart beats in a normal heart begin after electricity generated in the atria by the sinoatrial node spread through the heart and cause contraction of the heart muscle and pumping of blood.

I have had no experience with car accidents (knock on wood!!) but I continually get scrapes and cuts in my community garden since I usually forget to wear gloves and haven't noticed any unusual bleeding.
Hope this helps.
I think you will be fine too as time passes and you get used to it.
I've been on Xarelto for about 3 years, and I haven't experienced problems with "normal life." There is a product called Celox which "stops bleeding fast." I have some packets of it in my purse, car and at home - just in case.
When I was scheduled for my Colonoscopy, Both Cardio and Gastroenterologist told me that if I went into afib the procedure would be canceled. If I went into afib during the procedure I would be sent to ER. I would take my Pradaxa when I got home. The Colonoscopy would be rescheduled.
I am pretty sure I went into afib while I was having a tooth extracted. I was in it when I got home. I bleed alot, and could not start taking Pradaxa until I had completely stopped bleeding....which was 5 days after I stopped taking it (30 hrs after extraction). I was in afib for those 30 hrs. and the following week.
