I get the "fish flopping" in my chest feeling and short of breath.

I had chest pressure, short breath, lightheaded and horrible rapid heart beat.

If you don't feel anything I'd spend some additional serious time with your EP or Cardio.

Some folks don't know when they are in A-Fib as their symptoms are very mild or non-existant (asymptomatic). I know very well when I am in A-Fib in my case, as I have been highly symptomatic. I can normally sense my heartbeat at any time (not something everyone can do) and when there is any irregularity I can feel it. Along with sensing the rhythm problem, I can also get short of breath with only minor activity and become sweaty without cause. I can also have anxiety along with the other symptoms.

I did not have SOB, but the flip flopping to me felt like anxiety. I purchased a wrist BP monitor showing the heart beats and I could see the irregularity. I think Petey has a much more sophisticated one that gives him more information, but I just wanted to confirm when it went in and out of AF. Take care

SOB, dizziness and lightheadedness. Heart flopping in my chest along with tightness of the chest. It's not pleasant :(

All I get is a squiggly line on my ECG where the P Wave is supposed to be. Sometimes when I read the posts on Pradaxa, I get a little shaky and lightheaded.

petey - this may be a silly question but do you not feel your heart rate go up or your heart rate does not go up while in a-fib?

With Bystolic (beta blocker) it stays where it should be ( 60 sleeping, 70s at rest, 120 with vigorous exercise)

I have seen several beta-blockers mentioned on this forum over the last week plus. Are they all pretty similar?? Is Bystolic like Metoprolol? I suspect they are quite different as are the anti-arrythmics etc. (just a guess). In any case I've heard good things about Metoprolol and it seems to be used commonly. Funny, I was in the last 2X I was in the ER and Hospital, no-one really was very familiar with Flecanainde.

i know when I'm in AF. I feel the irregular HB. Normally I can sense my heart beating anytime but especially at rest and/or retiring. I'm not highly symptomatic. I'm aware of the irregular beat, feel somewhat fatigued, with maybe 1-2 second flashes of lightheadedness. Coughing during these seconds sometime returns me to NSR.Sometimes I belch more frequently and become dehydrated. My weight drops 1+ lbs. during the night. AF almost always start after I fall asleep. I return to NSR 6-18 hrs. In AF I'm able to carryon with my daily activities. Other than a blood thinner I take no other meds.

I think the beta blockers work similiarly but with all these meds, everyone is different.

I feel the irregular heartbeat, become very fatigued, lightheaded. And when I go back into NSR, I feel completely normal.
