Atrial fibrillation (AF or afib) is an abnormal heart rhythm (cardiac arrhythmia) which involves the two small, upper heart chambers (the atria). Heart beats in a normal heart begin after electricity generated in the atria by the sinoatrial node spread through the heart and cause contraction of the heart muscle and pumping of blood.

Happy to report that my husband got the OK to discontinue the Eliquis as he has not experienced an afib episode in 6 weeks. His ablation was on Jan. 20, and, besides his initial week of afib immediately after the ablation, he had just a couple short episodes early in March. Since then, he has since been in NSR. His EP said we will take "the pill in the pocket" approach, since my husband totally knows when he is not in sinus rhythm. IF he experiences an episode, he will begin back with the Eliquis and Multaq, and we will go from there. Of course, we are hopeful that he was, as his EP called it, a 'delayed' success.

Many people get apps for their phones. I'm not into that. The OMRON costs avbout $300. I've seen them for less.
