Atrial Fibrillation (AFib) Support Group

Atrial fibrillation (AF or afib) is an abnormal heart rhythm (cardiac arrhythmia) which involves the two small, upper heart chambers (the atria). Heart beats in a normal heart begin after electricity generated in the atria by the sinoatrial node spread through the heart and cause contraction of the heart muscle and pumping of blood.

Fibbers,

Quick show of hands....

How many of you have rate control (as your HR is 60-mid-80s) and still have AFIB.

I'm currently ~7 post-cryo and see my HR is within the range, but overall feels like AFIB. Clearly you can have a normal heart rate and have AFIB. Likely going for an EKG Friday to see what's up...

Just wondering does anyone else here experience that?

I am 2 weeks post-cryo (like that term), my HR is mostly in the 60s even in AF. Only a few times did my HR race (one time bringing me to the ER. In the very beginning of an episode it would race and then slow down to and just be irregular.

Every so often it feels like it's starting up, but when I take a pulse it's OK. Perhaps the heart has a memory of the feeling. So far, I have not had any episodes since the procedure.

I am in persistent afib and take Bystolic every night so I am at 60-80 24/7. It does make you tired.
