I have been on low dose Flecainide for almost 10 years....50mg 2x day.....the first 6 years I had episodes maybe 2-3x a year, always short and self reversed, now I havent had an episode in several years....you can do the math, I never put it in writing for superstition reasons :)
Its still my drug of choice !

I have taken flecainide for about 4 years. Like, Jan the first year I had 2 or 3 short episodes. I haven't had an episode in about 3 years.
I take 75mg twice a day.
I feel like flecainide gave me back my life. Hope it works well for you too.

I've only been taking it for a few months. 50mg twice a day worked for the first week, then tons of breakthroughs. Now I'm on 100mg twice a day and that seems to keep afib at bay. I have short runs here and there, but they always self-terminate, and the intensity isn't anywhere close to what it was.

been on flecainide for 4 years 100mg twice a day .. 9 months had perfect sinus then kinda lost its edge ..but even then was months in between afibs till 5 months ago had ablation last month they upped the dose to 200 mg twice a day get a few afibs but now they go back to normal rhythm on there own and only last few hours sometimes just in and out .. so for the most part it does what its suppossed to do for me ..

I've been on it for about 3 months, at 300mg. per day. It does an outstanding job of keeping me in rhythm, with only occasional bouts of being--temporarily--"out". And then I go back in relatively quickly. I'm not sure about the severity of the side effects: I THINK I may be a little "foggy", cognitively, while on it, but it's not so bad that I can pin it definitively on the drug. But I will, at some point rather soon, be opting for the ablation.

Thanks to all of you for your encouraging words! I'm praying that I'm one of the lucky ones who can stay in NSR with the help of Flec! So far....so good! It really helps to read the positive things so I don't dwell on the negative!

I've been on flecainide 50mg x 2 per day for 10 months and have remained in nsr with the slight exception of a pair of nearly back-to-back atrial flutter episodes which I was able to terminate within 2 hours with an extra 50mg of flecainide. (I am suspecting an extenuating cause for those aflutter episodes but it's outside the scope of this post).

It has very little side effects. I exercise often - bike, swim, fast walks, some short jogs. I do notice it seems to reduce my max heart rate while exercising. I am slim and fairly trim, watch my diet carefully trying to eat the healthy foods, and like to exercise.

So far, so good. My dr says he thinks that with me, flecainide will work "for a very long time".

i have been on flecanide 50mg in the morning and 100mg at night for the last 6 months no episodes at all...before that i was on 50mg twice a day and had a few breakthru episodes hence the increase..i love my flecanide i feel like i have my life back....at first i wasn't thrilled to be on medication and resisted but after another 12 hour stint in the Emergency room i started the Flecanide the next day...
