I'm so glad you posted this question, and I will sure be interested in the responses you get.
I also take 50mg of Flecainide twice a day. I've taken it now for a year this month. I've only had a small Afib episode that lasted about 5 hours in all that time, so I'm a fan of this drug! So far, anyway!
I do have occasional shortness of breath (I wouldn't call it labored breathing, though), and have contributed it to the Flec. It's not bad, and it isn't everyday. I haven't been able to figure out the cause of it as it's not after exercise or anything. Just once in a while, I feel like I could use a bit more air. Is that what you're talking about?
I have noticed lately, and I'm a bit concerned about it, some blurriness in my vision. It's not often but it's now happened twice. It only lasts a little while, but it's worrisome because I've read it's a pretty common side effect of the drug. I wonder if anyone has experienced that here?

I just started yesterday on 100 mg of Fecainide twice a day. Was released from hospital today after rapid A Fib event on Sunday (had to be given defibillators to shock back into rhythm. They did check me out for a PE because I have history of same.

02 sats in hospital about 95/96% but when I went for a walk this afternoon found somewhat short of breath - would be very curious to see other replies!

I was told 50mg twice daily was the dosage for a 90 lb 87 yr old grandmother which seemed fine to me. When they increased to 100mg twice a day, that put me over the edge with shortness of breath, brain fog and a general feeling of lethargy. I weened off it in 2 months and havent looked back, nearly 2 years ago. As a PIP, Im ok with it. Standing dose, no thanks

Since I've recently had several afib events, your question got me to research the effects of Flec. I noticed in the Wikipedia article that Flec has a "high affinity for lung tissue". Personally, I've had enough lung problems including EIA and PEs so trying this particular drug or any drug like it would give me pause.
