Atrial Fibrillation (AFib) Support Group
Atrial fibrillation (AF or afib) is an abnormal heart rhythm (cardiac arrhythmia) which involves the two small, upper heart chambers (the atria). Heart beats in a normal heart begin after electricity generated in the atria by the sinoatrial node spread through the heart and cause contraction of the heart muscle and pumping of blood.
It takes awhile before they can adjust the medicine it seems after being so sick. I sure was being over medicated there for a bit as I got better.
Last time in he had my digoxin checked along with thyroid and sugar and stuff. I am high in protein and BUN. No idea what that is. He thought I was dehydrated. I have to check wt each morning and write down. A calendar does a good job there. I have an extra one. I have been making down the liquid I put down. He said he would re-do the blood tests in June when I go in. I go back mid-June and he has cut going in to like 4 months now. I am trying to follow what he wants. I can stand the amount of medicine I am taking now. And so far it is working okay.
I have to watch not to get cuts and any unexplained bruises. Because of the warfarin. I was already a bleeder inheirted and scared this would make it worse. Really has not. They do have to tape my finger after they jab. I had one time it popped back open and start bleeding a little. I was still there waiting on the bus. They tape up my arm after blood tests. Hospital here could not do the digoxin test them selves but took blood and the big city hospital did the test. It was okay. Doctor mailed me a copy of the tests. And comments. This doctor I go to is family doctor. Since he cut the medicine my heart seems to me to be beating evenly. Just once fast I know of. I guess 120 best I could count. 10 mins maybe. I had not ate much supper and took the pills. For me I was stressed that day some but I think I have to eat good first.
make your heart stop for a second so it restarts itself and goes back into normal rythm. it is not like you see in the hospital with the padles it is done very carefully with smaller metal stickys. They can also give you antiarythmic drugs in large quantity 600 mg of rythmol works for me unless you tried that already.
