Fear the fear itself !. Please remember everything in the media is a hype since they want to get the most viewers for their programs.

I bet the program will NOT say/show anything more than what we all KNOW already about afib. The program is for people who are unaware who don't know if they have an afib or not.

The program has borrowed a page from this site more than likely. I even would not even waste my precious time to watch it, sorry. I have better things to do. I trust Petey, our resident expert, has searched the web and has put up here everything there is about the afib, LOL. Yeah, I trust petey more than the people who put together the documentary regarding afib research :-) Petey, don't let this go to your head now, LOL. You hear me? :-)

However, thanks very much to "Cheryl" for the heads up for the program.

The program, more than likely will be, a confirmation of what we all know on this site. Just my opinion.

I thought the documentary was very well done. My EP was on the special, Dr. Wharton you're awesome!

While I personally didn't learn anything significant, these type of informative presentations are extremely helpful to anyone starting their struggle and treatment of this condition. It's important to remember for us more seasoned members here that many folks reading our posts are not well versed in Afib. Petey certainly contributes greatly to the wealth of knowledge shared here, there's no denying that and we are fortunate to have him thanks Petey. What's old news to some however is breaking news to others. We are all here to promote health and well being as we are a diverse group dealing with a complex condition. I hope to see more of these type of specials being aired, they'll help many people understand the importance of seeking treatment and leading longer and healthier lives.

There was nothing earth-shattering in this documentary. I think it would be a good watch for newbies - and perhaps for the support groups which we who have afib are blessed to have.

I would also echo my thanks to Petey for his immeasurable contributions to this support group.

I watched it too, then again with my husband. Made me a bit unsettled. Not sure why. I'm only on 2 baby aspirin daily, so thinking that because I'm not on any other blood thinners has me worried.

Missed it on Discovery, but saw it on the computer. Just google the documentary name.

I thought it was good information, especially for those just starting out on this journey. Although I am symptom free after my last ablation, it did scare me into asking to get back on a blood thinner.

Please don't be unsettled. Get a PT/PTT blood test to see how thin your blood is. Make sure it is thin enough. Then, you will be okay. Please bear in mind that research has shown that aspirin does NOT work on everybody. That is the reason you MUST get a blood test to see if the aspirin thins your blood. If not, you have to choose another blood thinner.

Now, you are hoping and praying that aspirin works. That is NOT the way to go! When you have afib, you got to make sure your blood is thin. That can be accomplished ONLY by a blood test.

Your doctor might say a blood test is ONLY for people who take Coumadin. Well, he is dead WRONG. You can test your PT/PTT when you take aspirin. That is how long it takes for your blood to clot. Yes, INR blood test is only for people who taking Coumadin.

Please remember, we are usually afraid of unknowns.
