Atrial fibrillation (AF or afib) is an abnormal heart rhythm (cardiac arrhythmia) which involves the two small, upper heart chambers (the atria). Heart beats in a normal heart begin after electricity generated in the atria by the sinoatrial node spread through the heart and cause contraction of the heart muscle and pumping of blood.

WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN ATRIAL FLUTTER AND ATRIAL FILLBRITATION

I've had booth recently Ray. Flutter is a fast but regular heartbeat, and fib is erratic on an ekg.

I suffered from both too. katyreck is correct. Flutter is a regular heart beat, but fast. A-fib is irregular heartbeat and can be normal rate or fast rate. Personally futter bothered more than my a-fib did. However, when the flutter decided to join my a-fib episodes, it was not fun.

flutter seems to be a lesser evil than Afib and possibly more easily controlled and not chronic - it can go away for good. Afib is with us forever. check it out, try:
