Atrial fibrillation (AF or afib) is an abnormal heart rhythm (cardiac arrhythmia) which involves the two small, upper heart chambers (the atria). Heart beats in a normal heart begin after electricity generated in the atria by the sinoatrial node spread through the heart and cause contraction of the heart muscle and pumping of blood.

i felt so dizzy suddenly this morning , like a sinking feeling i told my boss may be we should call 9 11 .
anyways she gave me cookie and some water and i became ok .
i am on warafin , metropolo and dioxgen along with some bp meds .

i got really scared , i finnaly am going to see E P .

ANY SUGGESTIONS REGARDING wha questions to ask from E P .

I can't help with what questions to ask, but I can tell you to be sure to keep yourself hydrated. It's extremely important. I've had passing out episodes for the last few months and with some med changes and being sure to drink a glass upon waking up in the morning things have been a lot better. Remember the body is dehydrated after sleep. I dn't know if you eat in the morning but I had to start since starting Multaq. A little food and a lot more water have really helped me. Good luck to you. Dizziness is no fun.

Think of your concerns... your fears... admit that you have them and it is really troubling you...

1) What caused this dizziness?
2) Is there something I should be doing?
3) Is there a chance my medications are causing this?
4) I'm afraid we missed something else... should I have more/different tests?
5) I am concerned my condition is getting worse... how can we determine that?
6) Do you have a plan B for me if I continue with these bad feelings?

well i found that my pulse rate wa 44 and my BP i at 156/111
i am on mtroplo along with hydrochlorizide and liisopril

any advise is welcome

Ray- your normal heart rate was about 60 before, correct? You should talk to your doctor. Fast or slow heart rate makes you feel dizzy. Take deep breaths. Maybe you are shallow breathing.

Metroprolol is a great drug, but notorious for lowering your heart rate. I take 50 mg. bid and I'm fine with that. My heart rate stays at about 65. You didn't mention what dosage you were on, but it's trial and error with metroprolol to get the right dosase. Good luck. I hope you called your Dr. and told him about this....Feel better soon. The Metroprolol does a great job of controlling my heart rate. I've been on it for 11 years.

thanks to all i am on metropol 100 mg and then i will be on toprol also 100 mg .along that i am on dioxgen also .
i will be seeing the doc on monday

Hi Ray,
Hope you are feeling better. I'm a little confused by your last comment. You're not taking both metoprolol and toprol are you? They are the same thing and you shouldn't be taking both.
