This is my first post so I have a lot of question I hope some can answer. My wife has atrial fib. She was hospitalized 4 times the year before last. Dr put her on Batapace discharged her after 1 day her heart rate dropped to 34. He recommended that we go to Cleveland Clinic. She also had a blood disorder that causes her blood to be thick. At the time of Afib she was taking shot of blood thinners. The blood disorder is gone and Dr says the likelihood of it returning are 1%. Her blood doctor recommended that we go to Ochsners in New Orleans which we did. The EP put her on Tikosyn. Her afib is well controlled but she no longer wants to take Pradaxa and Tikosyn. She has paroxysmal afib the EP said now is the time to try the ablation. She is going to have one the last of June. I have read all the negative risk on the Internet and now I am having second thoughts. Any advise on what to expect? Thanks
