My blood pressure has ben borderline for many years. The top number tended to be around 130 in the mornings and 140 in the evenings. The bottom number was usually under 75. So I thought, that's not so bad, right. When I started seeing the EP, she said my blood pressure was too high. She added 5mg Norvasc (a calcium channel blocker) to my meds. This drug takes a long time to work (weeks). Well I've been on this about two months and my blood pressure (top number) is down about 8%. I'm now in the low 120's in the AM, and low 130's in the PM. The most interesting thing is that my AFIB episodes have decreased in frequency (and maybe severity) from 2-4 per week to less than one a week. Still up for the ablation next Monday 4/7. No more strokes.
